Will never accept Pakistani involvement in our area: Gilgit-Baltistan locals to Imran Khan

Gilgit-Baltistan [PoK], November 5 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Hasan Khan Niazi and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) Minister Ali Amin Gundapuri were surrounded by the residents of Gilgit-Baltistan during their visit to the region who shouted slogans like "We will never accept Pakistani involvement in our area".

On November 1, Khan had announced the granting of provisional-provincial status to Gilgit-Baltistan despite the ongoing protests against the Pakistan government over its decision to change the status of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Following this decision, the residents of Gilgit-Baltistan have said that they will never accept Pakistan's involvement in their region.

"We will never accept Pakistani involvement in our area. Get out from here," the locals said while surrounding the Pakistan PM and PoK Minister.

Gilgit-Baltistan residents are up in arms against Islamabad's decision to integrate the illegally occupied region with the rest of Pakistan.

In the run-up to the assembly elections in this so-called autonomous region, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan recently announced that the region will become a provisional province of Pakistan--a declaration that has drawn massive condemnation.

Activists wonder how an occupying state which has no locus standi over the region can take a call of subsuming it with the rest of Pakistan.

Earlier known as Northern Areas, Gilgit-Baltistan has been governed by the "Gilgit-Baltistan Empowerment and Self-Governance Order of 2009", which established an electoral framework. Elections have been held in the region under the order that provides for limited autonomy.

The people accuse Pakistan of systematically exploiting resources of the region and not sharing the dividends with them.

Any resistance they say meets brutal government reprisal with activists and leaders hounded, arrested and tortured. (ANI)

US President Donald Trump

Washington [US], November 5 (ANI): While the US awaits the final results of the votes cast on November 3, President Donald Trump on Thursday demanded the vote count be stopped.

Taking to Twitter, Trump said, "STOP THE COUNT!"

This comes as Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden leads Trump in several states including Arizona and Nevada.

Earlier, President Donald Trump's re-election campaign had filed a lawsuit to stop ballot counting in Michigan and Pennsylvania and to prevent the counting of absentee ballots in Georgia that it claims arrived after the deadline on Election Day.

The USA Today reported that the announcements of the Pennsylvania and Michigan lawsuits came shortly before Biden was projected on Wednesday afternoon to win Michigan. As of Wednesday afternoon, he led President Donald Trump by about 46,000 votes with 96 per cent of the estimated votes tallied. (ANI)

Pakistan's fake PM does not realise how people are struggling due to inflation: Maryam Nawaz

PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz

Gilgit-Baltistan [PoK], November 5 (ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz on Thursday said that the "fake prime minister" [Imran Khan] does not realise "how people are struggling due to inflation", The News International reported.

"The fake prime minister [Imran Khan] announced to make GB a province. You may be a fake premier but you are still a premier. You don't realise how people are struggling due to inflation," Nawaz said at a public rally in Skardu.

She said that Khan had earlier promised 10 million jobs to the youth of Skardu but the promise remains unfulfilled.

She said, "You promised 'tabdeeli' [change] in nine days. Your promises are fake."

At the rally, the PML-N leader urged the people in Gilgit-Baltistan not to vote for leaders who change their loyalties, The News International reported.

She said, "Promise me you will not vote for those who change their loyalties. Those who backstab their party do not deserve your votes."

"Today, politicking has changed. And it should change...Those who remain loyal to their party and aren't sell-outs, deserve votes," she further said.

"I have heard that out of our 16 candidates, eight or nine have changed loyalties. Remember this when you go out to vote that those who cannot endure pressure, will never stand for the public's rights," she added.

Meanwhile, the people across Gilgit-Baltistan are up in arms against Islamabad's decision of integrating the illegally occupied region with the rest of Pakistan.

In the run-up to the assembly elections in this so-called autonomous region, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan recently announced that the region will become a provisional province of Pakistan--a declaration that has drawn massive condemnation.

Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee urges EAM to take up Kartapur gurdwara's managing body matter with Pak

In a letter to Jaishankar, the DSGMC said the Gurdwara Sahib cannot be given to any government body as it is a religious matter and sentiments are closely attached.

New Delhi [India], November 5 (ANI): Condemning Islamabad's choice to move the administration and upkeep of the Kartarpur Sahib gurdwara to a non-Sikh body, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) on Thursday encouraged External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to take up the issue with the Pakistan government to stop the "undesirable obstruction" in Gurdwara's issues.

The Pakistan government has moved the administration and support of the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib away from the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabhandhak Committee (PSGPC), a body run by the minority Sikh people group, to the authoritative control of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETBP), a non-Sikh body.

As indicated by a notice gave on November 3, following endorsement of the Economic Coordination Committee of Cabinet, Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) had set up the PMU Kartapur Sahib which will be a self-financing body for the administration and upkeep of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib under the regulatory control of ETPB.

In a letter to Jaishankar, the DSGMC said the Gurdwara Sahib can't be given to any administration body as it is a strict issue and conclusions are firmly connected.

"We unequivocally censure this choice of Pakistan Government since it is an immediate impedance in Gurdwara undertakings and there is no point of reference in such manner. Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib is a verifiable Gurdwara where Guru Nanak Dev Ji inhaled his last and suppositions of Sikh Sanest overall are firmly connected with this Gurdwara Sahib," the letter expressed.

"There is no Sikh delegate in the proposed Project Management Unit wherein Additional Secretary Janab Tarig Khan has been designated as Chief Executive Officer and eight different individuals have been selected, every one of whom are non-Sikh with no information about Sikh religion," it added.

The move by Pakistan's administration comes days in front of the principal commemoration of the introduction of the noteworthy Kartarpur Corridor on November 9.

The passage joins Dera Baba Nanak hallowed place in Gurdaspur in India to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan.

"Thinking about the assessments of Sikh people group, you are mentioned to take up this issue quickly with Pakistan Government about halting the undesirable impedance in Gurdwara undertakings and reestablishing the charge of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib to Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee. We stay appreciative to you for respecting Sikh assessments with quick activity and reaction," the letter to Jaishankar read.

Prior in the day, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had a problem with Pakistan's "one-sided choice" to move the administration and upkeep of the Kartarpur Sahib expressing that it is exceptionally condemnable and is against the strict suppositions of the Sikh people group.

In an assertion, the MEA called upon the Pakistan government to switch its self-assertive choice to deny the Sikh minority network the option to oversee undertakings of the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, the last resting spot of Sikh confidence's organizer Guru Nanak Dev.

Then, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee kept in touch with Pakistan High Commission, unequivocally prescribing it to give back authoritative control of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur to Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.

"Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur turned out to be straightforwardly under the regulatory control of ETPB. This may influence the every day customs performed by Sikh implicit rules. In the light of the abovementioned, we firmly prescribe you to give back regulatory control of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur to Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC)," the letter read.
