Oman changes order of throne succession from Royal appointment to birthright

Muscat [Oman], January 13: Amendments were acquainted with Oman's constitution to build up a line of progression under which the seat will be acquired by the most recent ruler's oldest beneficiary as opposed to an individual selected by the regal family, Omani paper Alwatan wrote about Tuesday.

As per the report, refering to the changed constitution, the new line of progression to the Omani seat will go from the oldest child of the most recent king to his own oldest child (the late ruler's oldest grandson). On the off chance that the late ruler had no children, the seat will go to his oldest sibling. In the event that no siblings are alive at the hour of progression, the seat will go to the oldest child of the oldest sibling.
