New Delhi, June 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said he is "profoundly appreciative" for the mind-boggling support appeared by the worldwide network for India's enrollment of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
With an agreeable triumph of 184 votes in the 193-part General Assembly, India on Webnesday was chosen unopposed as a non-lasting individual from the 15 individuals UNSC for the 2021-22 term.
The Prime Minister said that India will work with all part nations to advance worldwide harmony, security, flexibility and value.
"Profoundly appreciative for the mind-boggling support appeared by the worldwide network for India's participation of the @UN Security Council. India will work with all part nations to advance worldwide harmony, security, versatility and value," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
The UN General Assembly held decisions for the President of the 75th meeting of the Assembly, five non-perpetual individuals from the Security Council and individuals from the Economic and Social COuncil on Webnesday (June 17, 2020), in the midst of unique democratic arrangementsin place at the UN Headquarters in exacting adherence to the COVID-19 conventions.
Addressing ANI, TS Tirumurti, Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, said India's political race as a non-lasting part at UNSC is an acknowledgment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's worldwide job and his solid commitment across nations.
