Over 7,600 people infected with dengue in Laos

Vientiane [Laos], November 6 (ANI/Xinhua): An aggregate of 7,612 instances of dengue fever have been recorded the nation over since January, as per the Lao Ministry of Health.

Representative Director-General of the Department of Communicable Diseases Control under Lao Ministry of Health, Phonepaserd Sayamoungkhoun, told a public interview in Lao capital Vientiane on Friday that the dengue fever has caused 12 passings since January.

The most noteworthy number of dengue patients was accounted for in Lao capital Vientiane with 1,740, while 893 cases were recorded in Bolikhamxay territory, and 709 in Bokeo area.

The 12 passings remembered four for Vientiane, two in Bolikhamxay and Khammuan separately, and one each in Xayaboury, Xieng Khuang, Savannakhet, and Phongsaly.

Lao wellbeing specialists have encouraged individuals to clear potential mosquito reproducing locales around their homes and work environments to help control the spread of the infection. (ANI/Xinhua)
