Madagascar PM, Ministers Meets Indian Envoy; Reviews Bilateral Relations

Antananarivo [Madagascar], October 30 (ANI): Madagascar Prime Minister Christian Ntsay headed a gathering to survey the relations among India and Madagascar, which was gone to by Indian Ambassador Abhay Kumar and a few Madagascar bureau priests including Foreign Minister Henry Rabary-Njaka and Defense Minister Rasolofonirina Beni Xavier.

"Executive of Madagascar @NtsayC took a gathering today to audit the reciprocal relations between India Flag of India and Madagascar Flag of Madagascar which was gone to by Ambassador @theabhayk and a few bureau pastors including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense Minister," tweeted Indian government office here.

As indicated by the Indian Embassy, upwards of 18 MoUs are being talked about among India and Madagascar as there is a common longing to redesign the ties between the two nations.

In December 2019, the Ministry of External Affairs had moved Madagascar from its East and South Africa division to the Indian Ocean Region Division, which manages the nations like Sri Lanka, Maldives, Mauritius and Seychelles.

President Ram Nath Kovind visited Madagascar in March 2018, during which a protection participation understanding was marked between the two nations.

Protection Minister of Madagascar visited India in February 2020 to go to the DefExpo in Lucknow and had a gathering with Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

President Andry Rajoelina of Madagascar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi traded welcome on Twitter on the event of the Independence Day of India this year. (ANI)
