Japan mulling to hold telephonic talks between new PM, Russian President

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga (L) and Russian President Vladimir Putin (R)

Tokyo [Japan], September 24: Japan is reflecting to hold a telephonic discussion between new Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chief Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato said on Thursday.

The authority said at a press preparation that Suga had just held talks with the heads of the US, UK and Germany, and needed to have discussions with more heads of state and government.

"We are examining the potential outcomes (to hold chats) with different nations, including Russia," Kato said.

A week ago, Japanese administrators chose Suga as the new Prime Minister after the previous top of the bureau, Shinzo Abe, startlingly declared his renunciation on August 28, because of an exacerbation of an ongoing sickness. (ANI/Sputnik)
